As I was familiarizing with Cinema4D, I came across quite an interesting function called Metaballs, which allows you to join together several spheres in order to create abstract forms, which certainly remind you a lava lamp with its melted wax moving randomly through it.

At the origin, I wanted to achieve a scene with an isometric point of view, which conserves distances, heights, and therefore gives a peculiar feel to the scene. I ended up messing around with the Metaball function after I had created a very simple set made of three street lamps and a pedestal on which my glowing metaballs would fit perfectly.
